Check out what skin care products I'm currently into!

As a starting base point, I'd like everyone to know that I have normal to dry skin. Winters on the east coast it tends towards more dry, but being back home in California tends towards more normal (except during Santa Ana wind season). I used to struggle with eczema patches but feel like I've finally found the right products to help maintain healthy skin!

One of the first things I like to do in the morning is wash my face! I've tried a lot of different face washes and have found that I like something fresh, light, and citrusy in the morning because it wakes me up! This Caudalie face wash has been a favorite for the past year for cleansing in the AM!

I love using a toner because I get a little redness (usually from being warm) and the Origins United State Balancing Tonic does a great job of keeping my skin tone balanced. I also like using this toner because it feels refreshing and awakening first thing in the morning.. I use this toner once (sometimes twice) a day - definitely after washing my face in the morning.

I used to not buy into the whole serum thing. I also have very dry skin and up until I started really investing into good moisturizer products, I used to get small eczema patches everywhere! I discovered serums were a great addition to my routine when I was living through NYC winters. I really love Caudalie's line of face serums. This one specifically gives me the moisture my face needs to last me all day long!

This eye cream has been a favorite for a couple of years now. I love how you it immediately radiates upon application. I also think it's an excellent value for a prestige product.

Boy was this a challenge. As I was getting older, I found wearing make-up to be more challenging (it took so much time in the morning before work and rubbed off on anything that touched my face!) So I decided I wanted a solution that would look good yet effortless - enter tinted moisturizer. I received a sample size of the Origins tinted moisturizer a while back and remember loving it. But I wanted to do my research to see what else was out there. Truthfully, nothing could compare. I then settled for two solutions...

  • On the days where I really wanted to be as close to natural as possible, I use the Origins Vitazing Energy Boosting Moisturizer. It's the only moisturizer that resembles a lotion consistency. FYI, most tinted moisturizers feel and look more like liquid foundations. I used to use a NARS tinted moisturizer that was great but still felt too much like foundation. I'm OBSESSED with the Origins Tinted Moisturizers!

  • On days where I want to look a little more "made-up" I use Josie Maran's Tinted Daily Argan Moisturizer. It not only drenches my dry skin in moisture but gives me a radiant glow! I feel like I look like I just stepped out of the water at the beach! The consistency swings more to a liquid foundation, but it certainly does not wear heavy like one!

One last recommendation I have is to always drink water! I try to have at least 8-oz first thing in the morning (16-oz if I've drank the night before) and a glass again before bed. I noticed a vast improvement in my skin when I actually started drinking more water. For those of you who aren't water-lovers, try adding a slice or two of cucumber (or lemon, or berries, or whatever flavor you prefer). That helped me to drink more water throughout the day!

Hope this helps you find some products that work for your skin!

always,
