Hey guys! I thought I'd share with you what I do to stay healthy and fit!
I spent 25 years of my life dancing. I started as a toddler and immediately fell in love with it. I grew up training in "the studio"... truthfully, I grew up dancing in multiple studios! I primarily trained in two traditional dance studios and also attended a ballet school. I would spend 15+ hours a week training because I loved it that much! I was, what you call, a "competitive dancer" (I mean yes I was competitive, but I literally competed in regional and national competitions).
After graduating high school, I went on to join a collegiate dance team at UC Irvine (rip em eaters!!). And after dancing at UC Irvine, I became a San Diego Charger Girl! Yes, I have quite an extensive dance background! When I "retired" as an NFL cheerleader, one my biggest personal challenges was how I was going to stay fit now that I didn't have to attend mandatory workouts or rehearsals.
I tried a variety of different gyms, workout studios, methods, etc. and fell in love with barre workouts! I am extremely particular about where I workout. I like studios that have knowledgeable instructors, are clean, and have great customer service. While I was in NYC, I found that Equinox, Barre3, and Corepower Yoga met all my fitness needs.
When I moved back to San Diego, a number of friends recommended FWRD Barre & Fitness. And I absolutely love it there! They offer traditional barre classes, interval (HIIT), and heated cardio sculpt classes. Switching between all their classes keeps me from plateau-ing with my workouts.
What does my typical workout schedule look like?
FWRD: Barre 3-4x's, Cardio Sculpt 1x per week & Interval on occasion
Corepower: C1.5 or C2 1-2x per week
Outdoor Running: 1x every other week
