Patience Is Something I'm Not Good At

Anyone else ever wanted something so bad that if they didn't get it, it actually made them sick to their stomach? A new dress, a new cell phone, a new friend, a boyfriend, a marriage, a baby, a job, a promotion... the list is endless.
It's awesome when those hopes are fulfilled. We feel great about ourselves! What feels like all our hard work paid off!
But what about when we don't get it? If you're anything like me, you take control of every possible thing you can to make it happen! You work harder and think of more ways to make your way happen!
But then the times I didn't get what I wanted would hurt me. And the times when I didn't get 2 of them, or 3 of them, or 4, or even all the things I wanted all at once felt like death to my heart! I worked too darn hard, spent too much time, I deserve it! What am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to keep clinging on to hope if God isn't even giving me just a little?!
But what if right now isn't the right time? What if those things are meant to be, just not at this very moment. Friends, I know it feels like the end of the world when we are rejected. But sometimes it's not about being denied those wants. It's about God's timing. Because His timing is always perfect.
So I may not have gotten my dream job, my marriage, a family to call my own... yet... but that doesn't mean that I should not hope in God's plans to fulfill these desires. So I choose differently. I choose to take a back seat, I choose to pass the wheel to God... I surrender control. Because I don't work hard so I decide what I deserve. Instead, I trust in God and His timing and His plan for my life. Because I am loved by Him and our Father longs for nothing but the best for each of us.
So dear loved ones, I hope you know this. And I hope you continue to trust in God's fulfillment for your desires. Because once He gives it to us and once we endure the waiting, we will come to know the power of His blessings.
always,
